The pink MSi Wind U100 is as well a pink netbook like the Samsung NC10 I reviewed. It has got a 10.1 inch screen and a weight of 2.3 pounds accordingly it’s small and light and very appropriate for daily mobile use. The pink cover and the white keyboard on the inside make a cute combination. The highlight of MSi Wind U100 is the amazing screen that is perfectly usable under all light conditions. With this pink notebook you can even write your emails or watch some YouTube videos in direct sunlight.

What can you do with it?

The keyboard is quite outstanding for a netbook. Of course it is not as good as most fully sized keyboards of bigger notebooks but it’s good enough for longer texts and emails. I would even recommend it for use at university and school. Battery life is only average with the 3-cell version. Using the MSI Wind U100-427 for surfing via wireless LAN the battery will last no longer than two hours. The battery should be good enough to watch one full length film with one charge. The hard drive capacity is 160GB. That’s the standard for netbooks and large enough for 30 thousand MP3 files.

What you might miss…

As all netbooks the MSI Wind U100 has no optical storage. But you can comfortably load data on it using an external hard drive, USB-stick or just the internet. Unfortunately the performance is not good enough to play games or watch videos in high definition. But for surfing, doing office tasks or watching videos it is perfect. The touchpad is nothing to write home about, if you are planning to do mouse intensive work I recommend using an external mouse. If you demand a good sound quality of the speakers you should better use headphones or external speakers. The speakers are unfortunately a weakness of almost every netbook.

The Pink Sony VAIO VGN-NS is a nice looking 15.4 inch pink notebook. It has a very clear and beautiful design. With 15.4 inch it joins the size of an normal notebook computer. The display is pretty nice and it’s quite pleasant to watch DVD’s or pictures on it. As the display is glossy the colors look nice but it might have some annoying reflections when using it outside. The build quality is as we expect from Sony quite nice – so it’s as well suitable for carrying it around with you – when you are willing to carry the 6.4 pounds of the pink notebook.

What can you do with it?

The keyboard and the touchpad are both excellent to work with and it’s very good for doing college and office work. One battery charge of the Sony VAIO VGN-NS is enough for four hours surfing in the internet and over two hours watching DVD. That’s quite much for a laptop of this size. The performance of the CPU and the graphics card are good enough to watch videos in high definition but you will be able to play very old games. The hard drive has a capacity of 250 GB what’s quite much to store your music, videos and pictures. It also has got a web-cam and a integrated microphone for video chatting.

What you might miss…

The integrated speakers are only average. If you want to watch a DVD with your friends you should think of using external speakers. It has as well no Blu-Ray drive so far. For constant mobile use it might be a little too large and heavy.

The pink Samsung NC10 has got a quite nice keyboard with not too tiny keys. So it’s quite cool for chatting, writing mails and longer texts with it. The battery life is quite awesome because you can surf in the internet over wifi more than six hours and watch videos for over four hours without connecting the power supply. The capacity of the hard drive is 160 GB. That’s not very much but enough to store over 30 thousand MP3 music files or over six hundred  episodes of an average TV-show. It has also an integrated web-cam and microphone to video or voice chat with your friends.

What you might miss…

According to the small size it misses an optical storage but that’s not too bad because you can use a USB-stick or an external hard disk to load data on the pink Samsung NC10. The performance of notebook is not strong enough to play games or watch videos in high definition but for surfing and normal videos it’s perfect. The speakers are not so good as well but when you use headphones it’s really cool for listening your favorite music.
